Welcome to the hottest new course in
Myrtle Beach, The Farmstead Golf Links.
As the name implies, Farmstead Golf Links
is a links type golf course, featuring
open, rolling terrain and fast TifEagle
greens. Native grasses, rather than trees,
line the generous fairways. The wind
can be a big factor, making the course
play differently from one day to the
next.
But the main reason that Farmstead
is garnering so much attention is simple:
The par 6, 18th hole.
The 18th hole stretches 767 yards from
the back tees to the green. More interesting
yet, it starts out in South Carolina
and finishes in North Carolina. Your
tee shot sails off to a wide sweeping
fairway, and your next shots curve around
a lake that runs down the left side of
the hole. The expansive green is guarded
on two sides by water.
The course also features five par 3's,
including the 12th, where 7 different
tees offer a different look every time
you play. Farmstead is a solid inland
course, reminiscent of other prime courses
in the area, such as Crow Creek and Thistle.
Reasonably priced, unique and challenging.
All good reasons to give Farmstead a
try on your next trip to Myrtle Beach.
After all, how often can you sit around
the 19th hole and brag about your score
on a golf hole almost a half mile long!
